What happens when diesel is used in petrol engine and vise Versa

Did you Know what happens when you use diesel in petrol engine & petrol in diesel engine. In this Article we will know what happens if diesel is used in petrol engine & petrol is used in diesel engine.

We know that in petrol engines the fuel gets burned with the help of spark plug but in diesel engines we don’t have a spark plug. The fuel in the diesel engines gets burned with the help of a high compression ratio. When we pour diesel in the petrol engine the fuel does not burn properly because the petrol engine has less compression ratio compared to diesel engines and it may lead to misfiring. the combustion does not take place clearly and lead to knocking and more smoke is produced this process will damage the engine components and performance of the engine.

Want to know the Difference between petrol engine & diesel engine

If we pour petrol in a diesel engine it leads to abnormal combustion in the cylinder, the petrol in the diesel engine gets burn in advance before the complete compression this may lead to damage of a piston and piston rings. Petrol gets burned and creates high pressure on the piston before it reaches to the top of the cylinder. more heat and smoke is generated.
