Evaporative condenser

Evaporative condenser

Evaporative condenser is nothing but the evaporative cooling. That means the water evaporates, when the water comes in contact with the refrigerant flowing in the condensing coil.

Evaporative condenser consist of a condenser coil, pump to circulate water from the sump, eliminators, fan, spray header and it’s nozzles, and a float valve.

In this both the air and water is used to condense the hot vapour refrigerant to the liquid refrigerant. With the help of pump the water from the sump is drawn and is passed to the spray head. With the help of nozzles water is sprayed onto the condenser coils, which is attached to the spray header. In which water cools the condenser coils. And also air is drawn from the bottom end by the help of fans placed on the top. This is used to absorbs the heat from the water and evaporates the discharge from the top. As the heat in this is absorbed by water and air the vapour refrigerant converts in to the liquid state. The condensed water again reaches the sump which is used to recirculated.
