Hydrogen-Powered Cars – Advantages and Disadvantages

Hydrogen-Powered Cars – Advantages and Disadvantages?

Advantages of Hydrogen Powered Car:

  1. Using hydrogen power is the lack of greenhouse gases released.
  2. Hydrogen-powered cars emit no traditional pollution.
  3. The best thing about hydrogen-powered cars is that they produce only water vapor when running, which is quite ecologically friendly.
  4. Hydrogen is abundant and produces no dangerous emissions.
  5. Cleaner fuel cell systems, which produce far less pollution than internal combustion engines.
  6. Hydrogen’s cleanliness makes it a perfect fuel for electric cars.
  7. Fuel cells provide the stored energy from hydrogen via electric currents, so cars operate more efficiently because they don’t have to store as much energy as batteries or even gasoline tanks. This also means that fuel cells can run at a much higher voltage to power an electric motor better and produce more torque–so they’re theoretically faster too.
  8. This fuel takes less time to re-fill the fuel tank.
  9. Hydrogen-powered cars have a very long range.
  10. Hydrogen fuel cells are also very efficient and can convert up to 60% of the energy in hydrogen into electricity. This is much more efficient than gasoline-powered cars, which only convert about 20% of the energy in gasoline into usable power.

Disadvantages of hydrogen powered Car:

  1. It should be carried carefully because it’s so combustible.
  2. For any car that runs on fuel cells (whether they’re powered by hydrogen or not), there needs to be a battery backup system in case the air conditioning motors in vehicles stop working in extremely cold weather.
  3. This fuel is hard to transport and store.
  4. High cost related through ineffective methods of producing clean.
  5. Hydrogen also costs more to produce than gasoline or other alternatives currently being explored like natural gas like LPG (Liquified Petroleum Gas).
  6. Hydrogen-powered cars include that they are expensive to build and maintain, and there is not yet a widespread hydrogen fueling infrastructure.

Conclusion:

The Cons of Hydrogen Cars about running them is the amount of research needed before they can be produced in large quantities, and without the proper research being done, there’s no possible way to say what other side effects might arise from unleashing them into society without thorough consideration.

On one hand, hydrogen power can work well; on the other hand, it has to be developed more before it becomes a clear-cut option for powering cars in any number. It’ll probably take some years from here before you see much change.
