What is Internal Expanding Brake?

Internal expanding brake is a type of brake that uses hydraulic pressure to push the brake shoes radially against the inner surface of the brake drum. It has many advantages over the other types of brakes available in the market. 

Advantages of Internal Expanding Brake:

1. It is less likely to cause brake fade. This is because the brake shoes and the drum surfaces never apply pressure directly to each other except when the brakes are applied.
2. These are less expensive than many types of brakes.
3. Internal expanding brake is better than the external contracting type of brake both in terms of braking efficiency as well as ease of maintenance.
4. It has fewer moving parts which makes it more reliable.
5. Internal expanders are easier to service.
6. Maintenance is easy due to little complexity in design.
7. Within the strength of steel, it is not only able to withstand high voltage for a long time continuous applications, but also can be repeatedly switched at low voltage without causing damage to the insulating medium.
8. Internal Expanding brake has a very low power loss, so that the efficiency is high. 
9. The Internal Expanding brake is small in size and light in weight, which makes it easy to install and use.

Disadvantages of Internal Expanding Brake:

1. They tend to more wear.
2. Internal Expanding Brake circuit can not be too fast to stop.
3. Internal expanding brake circuit is also susceptible to noise factors, which may cause interference in the system.
4. More difficult to modify.
5. Heat dissipating capacity is low.
